These ethereal birdhouses are inspired by the vernacular gourd houses of the rural South and are made from over 500 pieces of laser-cut cardboard.  The horizontal model won first prize in a 2009 'Hello Birdie' fundraiser for local charity Uplift Austin, while the vertical model won 'Greenest Birdhouse' at the same event in 2010.
