A temporary lighting installation transformed a banal traffic island during the ‘Planet Arlington’ summer festival.  The festival’s environmental theme is reflected in the project’s material strategy; 700 LED lights, atop flexible plastic tubes, are magnified by discarded water bottles and powered by a single solar panel.  We spent two weeks on site installing the project.  After the festival the installation was dismantled and fully recycled.  The project was recognized as one of 2007’s Best Public Art Projects by Americans for the Arts.
